Face Oil | TDXO Spring Skincare Guide

Let's go ahead and address the elephant in the room here: yes. Putting MORE oil on your skin may come across a little counterintuitive - especially if we already happen to have oily, acne-prone, or combination skin. But, stick with me here.

The oil that we're using in skincare isn't just adding onto the natural oil on your face, it's supplementing the natural oil that your skin is (or isn’t) producing an effort to add moisture to your skin and help repair the barrier that keeps that moisture in.

On top of moisturizing, face oil can also have other uses, like anti-inflammation and reducing acne.

So, do you see why they're important now? GOOD! :)

This piece of the skincare routine has grown wildly in popularity and there's more oils on the market right now than you can count. Which is why I pulled together my favorites for you!

The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold-Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil

This oil is a great option for all skin types. It uses 100% pure rosehip seed oil and targets a wide variety of skin conditions.

Why I love it: This oil is RICH in vitamin A and essential fatty acids that target signs of photo aging and support healthy, hydrated skin!

Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil

This oil absorbs super fast and is PACKED to the brim with rare superberry antioxidants for rapid hydration and velvety soft skin with an immediate glow.

Why I love it: the ingredients in this oil are no joke. It contains maqui, which is the most antioxidant-dense fruit in the world, super-hydrating prickly pear and squalane oil to lock in the moisture, and then illuminates immediately. It's a winner for me.

Biossance 100% Sugarcane Squalane Oil

You may not have heard of squalane, but your skin has! Your body produces its own version, but it starts to decline in your mid-twenties, which can lead to dryness and texture. This is a very lightweight oil that targets redness, dryness, and uneven skin - and is excellent for all skin types.

Why I love it: it doesn't just give hydration, but maintains hydration as well. As a bonus, this oil can also be used on your hair as well for some split ends and frizz!

Tatcha Gold Camellia Beauty Oil

Alright, buckle in. There's A LOT to unpack here about this must-have from Sephora.

First things first: this bad boy has 24-karat gold that allows it to multitask on your face, hair, and body - adding instant nourishment and radiance to your skincare and makeup routine (whew). It's perfect for all skin types, combats dryness and texture, and is anti-aging.

It is also made from the extra virgin Japanese camellia that grow on the Goto Islands. The seeds are cold-pressed to extract the essential oil and retain its full benefits. This oil is naturally rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids to nourish and help seal in moisture. It absorbs QUICKLY and thoroughly because its molecular weight is an almost identical match for skin

(okay, breathe)

Why I love it: But first: the packaging (droooooooool). Second, it can be used all over! Hair, face, neck, body, BOOM. Also, it is a fantastic finishing touch to your makeup routine as well. Add a drop to the high points of your face for the highlight of your DREAMS. Add a few drops to your undereye for some luminosity or over your foundation for a glow with a beauty sponge. And ALSO: use a few drops after self tanner for less streaking.
